Acoustic excellence meets digital refinement. As soon as you touch the keys on the Casio Grand Hybrid, you will notice that it delivers the acoustic authenticity your musical performance demands. The revolutionary new Natural Grand Hammer Action keyboard is made with full-length wooden concert grand piano keys, using the same materials and processes that the C. Bechstein concert grand pianos do. Pressing a key sends a hammer along the same vertical path as that of a grand piano, with the same essential weighted action and pivot points, resulting in a true and uncompromising piano touch and feel.
Reproducing the sound of such an awesomely powerful instrument is not exactly a simple task to accomplish, but not only has Casio succeeded; they have gone so far as to offer sound profiles of three different, but long-established instrument styles for pianists to choose from. The first of these sounds, the Berlin Grand, has been developed in unison with the piano maker C. Bechstein, who has been building high quality, hand crafted pianos for over 150 years. Bechstein pianos are world renown for their refined clear sound and a resonance that gives each performance rich melodic color. The Vienna Grand style, on the other hand, provides a calm and stately sound with rich bass and beautiful tones when the keys are played softly, while the Hamburg style delivers gorgeous power and strength with plenty of string resonance.
The fact that the piano is digital gives it some distinct advantages beyond its portability and convenience. The scene feature, for instance, includes 15 different preset modes for different musical composers including Chopin and Liszt. This provides the best optimal tones and reverberation for each piece that is being played. Piano players can create their own presets as well. A hall simulator also recreates the experience of performing in a real concert venue.
Casio's Celviano Grand Hybrid is available in two models - the GP-500BP and the GP-300. Both the GP-500BP and GP-300 also feature a Grand Acoustic System that simulates the sound of a grand piano as it emanates from above and below the soundboard. The multi-channel amplification system creates an immersive sound field like that of a 9-foot concert grand for both the player and audience. A Headphone mode is also included to produce an ideal stereo sound while playing or practicing quietly.
